DIOCESE OF TOLEDO ANNOUNCES PERSONNEL APPOINTMENTS
AND PARISH CHANGES

May 14, 2010 – Toledo, OH - The Most Reverend Leonard P. Blair, Bishop of the Diocese of Toledo announces the following personnel appointments.

Effective May 11, 2010:

Reverend Keith J. McCormack is granted a leave of absence for health reasons. Father McCormack is Pastor of Saint Mary Parish in Mansfield.

Effective July 1, 2010:

• Reverend Christopher G. Bazar as Chaplain to Bishop Hoffman Catholic School, Fremont, Presbyteral Moderator and Parish Chaplain to Our Lady of Sorrows Parish, Put-In-Bay and Saint Michael Parish, Kelley’s Island. Father Bazar is currently the Associate Pastor at St. Peter Parish in Mansfield.

• Very Reverend Nelson G. Beaver, VF currently serving as Pastor of Resurrection Parish in Lexington and as Dean of the Saint Juan Diego Deanery will also serve as Pastor of Saint Mary of the Snows Parish in Mansfield. The two parishes will become twinned July 1, 2010.

• Reverend Ronald J. Brickner as Pastor of Saint Mary Parish, Vermillion. Father Brickner is currently the Chaplain to Bishop Hoffman Catholic School, Fremont, Presbyteral Moderator and Parish Chaplain to Our Lady of Sorrows Parish, Put-In-Bay and Saint Michael Parish, Kelley’s Island.

• Deacon Thomas Carone is appointed Deacon at Immaculate Conception Parish, Toledo in addition to his duties as Deacon at Historic Saint Patrick Parish, Toledo.

• Deacon Trevor N. Fernandes is appointed Deacon at Immaculate Conception Parish, Toledo in addition to his duties as Deacon at Historic Saint Patrick Parish, Toledo.

• Sister Regina Marie Fisher, SND is appointed as Pastoral Leader of Saint Mary Parish, Clyde.Sister Regina is currently in ministry at Saint Patrick of Heatherdowns Parish, Toledo.

• Very Reverend Dennis P. Hartigan, VF, currently serving as Pastor of Historic Saint Patrick Parish and Dean of the Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Deanery will also serve as Pastor of Immaculate Conception Parish in Toledo. The two parishes will be twinned July 1, 2010. Father Hartigan will remain President of Central Catholic High School.

• Reverend Adam L. Hertzfeld as Pastor of Saint Joseph Parish, Toledo in addition to his duties as Diocesan Vocation Director.

• Reverend Thomas J. McQuillen as Associate Pastor, Saint Peter Parish, Mansfield. Father McQuillen is currently serving at St. Augustine’s Seminary in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, Africa.

Reverend Juan Francisco Molina will be relieved of his duties as Pastor of Immaculate Conception and will remain Pastor of Saints Peter and Paul Parish, Toledo.

• Reverend Joseph T. Poggemeyer as Pastor of Saints Adalbert and Hedwig Parish, Toledo. Father Poggemeyer is currently the Pastor of Saint Joseph Parish, Toledo. Saints Adalbert and Hedwig Parish is created from the merged territory of Saint Adalbert and Saint Hedwig parishes. Each parish will be suppressed effective July 1, 2010.

• Reverend Charles F. Ritter returns from sabbatical to serve as Associate Pastor of Saint Joseph Parish, Sylvania.

• Reverend James Sanford, OSFS, as Pastor of Sacred Heart Parish and Saint Stephen Parish, Toledo. He is currently an assisting priest at Immaculate Conception and Saints Peter and Paul Parishes, Toledo.

The following personnel appointment will be effective after his ordination to the priesthood on May 29, 2010:

• Deacon Matthew Rader as Associate Pastor of Saint Wendelin Parish, Fostoria
The following personnel appointment was made effective March 4, 2010:

• Deacon Stanley Przybylek has been granted Senior Status. He was serving at Saint Joan of Arc Parish, Toledo.
