ROSARY CATHEDRAL CONCERT SERIES CONCLUDES SEASON WITH A CONCERT BY THE TOLEOD DIOCESAN CHOIR

April 29, 2009 – Toledo, OH –
The Toledo Diocesan Choir, under the direction of Paul Monachino, will hold it s final concert in the 2008-2009 the Cathedral Concert series  on Sunday, May 17, 2009 at 3:00 pm at Our Lady, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Cathedral. The Cathedral choir will be joined by brass ensemble and percussion in this concert that is free and open to the public.

The Cathedral choir will perform “Gloria” by John Rutter and other works for choir, organ and brass. The choir will sing “Ave Maria” by Franz Biebl and psalm settings by British composers Ralph Vaughan-Williams and Benjamin Britten. Selections for brass ensemble and organ will include “Salve fac populum tuum” by Charles-Marie Widor and works by Richard Strauss, David Conte and Carlyle Sharpe.  Antiphonal double choir works by Gabrieli and Canali will take advantage of various recesses in the cathedral space.
