The Padua Center Offers Opportunities for Community Service

The Padua Center is an educational outreach center sponsored by St. Martin de Porres Parish in Toledo. Volunteering at the Padua Center is a great opportunity for people and groups with experience in gardening, carpentry, teaching, writing, advertising, marketing, cleaning, or working in an office. Here are some great opportunities to get involved: Gardening – beginning in March and going through November, individuals or groups are needed to clear and maintain the garden.
Cleaning the Chicken Coop – this is a one day event for up to 5 people who enjoy the out of doors! Tutors are needed for 1‐2 hours a week to help supervise students who are at the Center.
Volunteers are needed to answer phones, perform clerical duties, do general cleaning, wash windows, and sort and organize supplies. People with marketing, advertising, or writing experience are needed to help with promoting the summer camps held at the Padua Center. Summer Camp sessions can use volunteers to help with activities.  A vertical garden will be built in May; need people with carpentry skills.

Two fund raisers are on the schedule: The Chicken Fest – June 2nd – volunteers are needed.
Peaces of Art – in October – at the Gesu Sullivan Center ‐ includes dinner, music, silent auction, raffle, original artwork by students.  The Board of Directors has openings on the Board for interested people. For more information, or to volunteer, call or email Sr. Ginny Welsh, OSF
