Notice of an Administrative Opening for

DIRECTOR OF INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNOLOGY

Diocese of Youngstown, Office of Catholic Schools

 

The Diocese of Youngstown is seeking highly qualified candidates for the part-time position of Director of Instructional Technology. This person is a member of the staff of the Office of Catholic Schools and oversees matters relating to instructional technology for the six high schools and 28 elementary schools in the six-county area including Mahoning, Trumbull, Ashtabula, Columbiana, Stark and Portage counties.

 

Reports to: Associate Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction

 

Qualifications:

 

            •      Practicing Roman Catholic

            •      Strong commitment to the mission of total Catholic education and Catholic schools in particular

            •      Licensed/certificated educator with minimum of three years classroom experience

            •      Appropriate academic preparation and experience in technology and its integration into the instructional program

            •      Knowledge of 21st century skills and the relation of technology in their implementation in the instructional program

            •      Highly motivated with strong interpersonal and leadership skills

 

Purpose of Position:

 

The Director of Instructional Technology will coordinate diocesan-level and school instructional technology professional development, work with the appropriate diocesan personnel to guarantee coordination between curriculum and technology, and will work with textbook, curriculum and technology committees. The director will create and update the Office of Catholic Schools’ technology plan and acceptable use policy as well as assisting the schools in the development of technology plans. The director will oversee the Office of Catholic Schools’ website and serve as a resource to the schools on their websites as well as other uses of technology for marketing. The director will serve as a resource for E-rate and act as liaison with local, state and national agencies in the area of instructional technology. Other responsibilities will be included as requested by the superintendent or assistant superintendent.
