DIRECTOR OF SCHOOL HUMAN RESOURCES

The Diocese of Youngstown is seeking highly qualified candidates for the full-time position of Director of School Human Resources. This person is a member of the staff of the Office of Catholic Schools and oversees matters relating to school personnel for the six high schools and 28 elementary schools in the six-county area including Mahoning, Trumbull, Ashtabula, Columbiana, Stark and Portage counties.

 

 

Reports to: Superintendent of Schools

 

 

Qualifications:

 

            •      Practicing Roman Catholic

            •      Strong commitment to the mission of total Catholic education and Catholic schools in particular

            •      Appropriate academic preparation, advanced degree in educational administration or human resources or the equivalent

            •      Evidence of significant, successful teaching/leadership experience (in Catholic schools)

            •      Highly motivated with strong interpersonal skills

 

 

Purpose of Position:

The Director of School Human Resources will coordinate diocesan-level and school staff development programs, mentor new administrators and teachers, supervise the administrator and teacher evaluation processes and oversee the development and implementation of personnel policies. The director will oversee the state administrator and teacher licensure process, through the Local Professional Development Committee (LPDC), to include the resident educator and master teacher programs, and will assist the Office of Religious Education with certification for educators. The director supervises the annual Golden Apple Award program.
