The U.S. Catholic Bishops’ expressed it well in their joint Statement issued in July, 2005 titled Renewing Our Commitment to Catholic Elementary and Secondary Schools in the Third Millennium: “We are convinced that Catholic schools continue to be the most effective means available to the Church for the education of children and young people who are the future of the Church.” It’s what’s inside that counts.
