The Diocese was established on April 15, 1910 and comprises 19-counties in Northwest Ohio and occupies 8,222 square miles.

Population:  There are 1,481,200 people who live in the 19 counties covered by the Diocese of Toledo.  Of these, 322,523 are Catholic.

Parishes:  There are 127 parishes in the Diocese.

Priests:  There are 219 priests in the Diocese of Toledo, including our retired priests and those on assignments outside the Diocese.

Deacons:  There are 183 permanent Deacons in the Diocese of Toledo.

Religious:  There are 513 religious women in the Diocese of Toledo and 8 religious men.

Schools:  The Diocese has 10 high schools serving 3,043 students.  There are four private Catholic high schools serving an additional 2,572 students.  The Diocese has 61 diocesan or parish elementary schools serving 12,596 students.  There are two private Catholic elementary schools serving an additional 333 students.  There is, in addition, one non-residential school serving the disabled.  This school has a total of 51 students.

Teachers:  There are 1,365 teachers working in the Diocese.  The Diocese also has 8 priests,  and 25 sisters who teach in Catholic schools.

Religious Education:  A total of 48,747 students receive religious education in the Diocese of Toledo.
