Several programs at the CCMT campuses give students “extras” – enrichment beyond the basic core subjects. Hands-on activities taught by other adult or teen mentors are enthusiastically embraced by our children. Enrichment areas include:
- Financial Literacy – Directions Credit Union staff teach junior high students about the importance of saving and budgeting money (6-week program).
- Engineering Institute – Professors from the University of Toledo teach hands-on engineering to high-achieving students who enjoy math and science.
- Chess & Art Clubs – Both clubs were started in 2010 by teachers at Rosary Cathedral who responded to the requests of motivated students.
- String Orchestra – Dr. Brenda Waters from Central Catholic High School teaches violin lessons to students at Rosary Cathedral.
- Kids Unlimited – This after-school tutoring program provides homework help, physical exercise, and enrichment to students of all grade levels.
- Praise Choir - This group of 5th-8th graders use music that focuses on God and positive messages.
- Sports – CCMT offers volleyball, basketball, cross country and track for grades 5-8 and coaches are always needed.
If you have a special skill you’d like to share with CCMT students (art, music, math, scouting, chess, sports coaching, etc.) contact Claire Guisfredi, 419-244-6711, ext. 216 or cguisfredi@toledodiocese.org.
