 DIOCESE OF TOLEDO ANNOUNCES PERSONNEL APPOINTMENTS
 

May 23, 2008 – Toledo, Ohio - The Most Reverend Leonard Paul Blair, Bishop of the Diocese of Toledo announces the following personnel appointments in the diocese effective July 1, 2008:

·        Reverend Ronald J. Brickner is appointed as Parish Chaplain and Presbyteral Moderator of Mother of Sorrows Parish, Put-In-Bay and Saint Michael Parish, Kelleys Island, in addition to his responsibilities at Saint Joseph Central Catholic High School, Fremont.

·        Reverend Adam L. Hertzfeld is appointed as the Director of Vocations for the Diocese of Toledo. Fr. Hertzfeld has been on a study leave at the Pontifical North American College in Rome, Italy.

·        Reverend Kent R. Kaufman is appointed as the Pastor of All Saints Parish, Rossford. Fr. Kaufman currently serves as the Pastor at Transfiguration of the Lord parish in Upper Sandusky.

·        Reverend Ronald A. Schock is appointed as the Pastor of Holy Trinity Parish, Assumption. Fr. Schock currently serves as the Director of the Office of Vocations, Priesthood and Consecrated Life for the Diocese as well as the Associate Pastor of St. Rose of Lima Parish in Perrysburg.

·        Reverend Gary R. Walters is appointed as Pastor of Saint Mary Parish, Tiffin and Saint Pius X Parish in Sycamore. Fr. Walters currently serves as Pastor of Saint Catherine of Siena Parish in Toledo.

·        The parishes of Saint Mary, Antwerp, Saint Joseph, Paulding and Saint John, Payne are suppressed and merged into the newly created parish of Divine Mercy, Paulding with Very Reverend G. Allan Fillman as the pastor. 

The following appointment is effective immediately:

 ·        With the creation of the regional Kateri School System within the Blessed Kateri Deanery, Reverend David A. Reinhart becomes the President of the School System and no longer the President of Cardinal Stritch High School which is part of the Kateri School System.

 The following appointment is effective June 4, 2008

 ·        Deacon William Lochotzki is granted Senior Status. Deacon Lochotzki currently serves at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish in Toledo.

 The following appointment is effective June 23, 2008:

 ·        Upon the recommendation of Reverend Pawel Bandurski, SChr, Provincial of the Society of Christ, Reverend Richard Philiposki, SChr, is appointed as Pastor of Saint Adalbert Parish and Saint Hedwig Parish, Toledo.

  The Diocese of Toledo, established April 15, 1910 encompasses 8222 square miles in a mixture of urban and rural areas that spans 19 counties across Northwest Ohio, serving 306,532 Catholics. The diocese includes Allen, Crawford, Defiance, Erie, Fulton, Hancock, Henry, Huron, Lucas, Ottawa, Paulding, Putnam, Richland, Sandusky, Seneca, Van Wert, Williams, Wood and Wyandot counties.
