DIOCESE OF TOLEDO ANNOUNCES PERSONNEL APPOINTMENTS

February 25, 2008 – Toledo, Ohio - The Most Reverend Leonard Paul Blair, Bishop of the Diocese of Toledo announces the following personnel appointments in the diocese effective immediately:

  • Reverend Thomas E. Wehinger, appointed to the office of Administrator of Saint John the Baptist Parish and Saint Michael the Archangel Parish in Toledo.

  • Reverend Gerald J. Chmiel, Pastor of Saint John the Baptist Parish and Saint Michael the Archangel Parish in Toledo, granted a temporary leave of absence for health reasons.

The Diocese of Toledo, established April 15, 1910 encompasses 8222 square miles in a mixture of urban and rural areas that spans 19 counties across Northwest Ohio, serving 306,532 Catholics. The diocese includes Allen, Crawford, Defiance, Erie, Fulton, Hancock, Henry, Huron, Lucas, Ottawa, Paulding, Putnam, Richland, Sandusky, Seneca, Van Wert, Williams, Wood and Wyandot counties.
