DIOCESE OF TOLEDO ANNOUNCES PERSONNEL APPOINTMENTS

January 23, 2008 – Toledo, Ohio - The Most Reverend Leonard Paul Blair, Bishop of the Diocese of Toledo announces the following personnel appointments in the diocese effective immediately:

• Reverend Michael Schelling has been granted a leave of absence for health reasons. Father Schelling is the Pastor at St. Joseph Parish in Galion and St. Joseph Parish in Crestline.

• Very Reverend Nelson Beaver has been appointed the Dean of the Saint Juan Diego Deanery.

• Reverend Anthony Borgia has been appointed the Pastoral Administrator of Saint Joseph Parish, Galion and Saint Joseph Parish, Crestline, in addition to his duties as Pastor of Saint Peter Parish, Mansfield. Father Borgia will be assisted at Crestline and Galion by Reverend John Brennen.

• Reverend Michael Geiger has been granted a leave of absence for health reasons. Father Geiger is the Associate Pastor at St. Charles Borromeo Parish in Lima.


The Diocese of Toledo, established April 15, 1910 encompasses 8222 square miles in a mixture of urban and rural areas that spans 19 counties across Northwest Ohio, serving 306,532 Catholics. The diocese includes Allen, Crawford, Defiance, Erie, Fulton, Hancock, Henry, Huron, Lucas, Ottawa, Paulding, Putnam, Richland, Sandusky, Seneca, Van Wert, Williams, Wood and Wyandot counties.
