ROSARY CATHEDRAL CONCERT SERIES CONTINUES WITH PERFORMANCE OF MOZART’S “CORONATION” MASS IN C MAJOR
October 30, 2007 – Toledo, OH – The Toledo Diocesan Choir, under the direction of Paul Monachino, will perform Mozart’s “Coronation” Mass in C major during a concert on Sunday, November 18, 2007 at 3:00 P.M. at Our Lady Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Cathedral. The choir will be accompanied by orchestra. The program will also include four of Mozart’s “Epistle” Sonatas for organ and orchestra as well as “Ave Verum.” Works by Gorczycki and Homilius as well as an arrangement of “Holy God, We Praise Thy Name” will complete the program.
Vocal soloists for the Mass in C major are: Ann Corrigan and Wendy Wisniewski, sopranos; Tina Bunce, mezzo-soprano; Christopher Scholl, tenor; and Steven Searle and Jeff Wisniewski, bass/baritone. The concert will be a part of “St. Cecila Sing,” a national festival of sacred song sponsored by the National Association of Pastoral Musicians.
The Cathedral Concert Series runs from October through April. This concert is free and open to the public. Our Lady, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Cathedral is located at 2535 Collingwood Blvd at Islington Avenue. Secured parking will be available for the 3pm service.
