All throughout the nineteen counties of the Diocese of Toledo, the People of God have been affected by the strong rains and significant floods. Some have had their homes damaged, their personal property destroyed, their farm fields seriously spoiled, and their hearts broken. Also many of our Churches, schools and other buildings have suffered some damage but thankfully, none of them catastrophically.
You and your parish are invited to join Bishop Leonard Blair in praying for all those who are adversely affected by the storms and floods. The Bishop asks that you include these intentions explicitly in the General Intercessions at Mass throughout this week.
You may also wish to offer neighborly support to those who are suffering injury and loss at this time. Catholic Charities is encouraging us to assist through the local chapters of the American Red Cross who are on the job in the areas suffering difficulty.
