BISHOP BLAIR TO RENEW ACT OF ENTRUSTMENT AT MASS AT THE BASILICA SHRINE OF OUR LADY OF CONSOLATION

May 21, 2007- Toledo, OH- This Friday May 25, Bishop Leonard Blair will celebrate a solemn Mass at the Basilica Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation in Carey at 7 p.m.  The Mass will be in thanksgiving to our Mother Mary for her intercession on behalf of the Diocese of Toledo and to renew the Act of Entrustment originally made in 2005.

There will be a Novena prayer, rosary, homily and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament each day in the Basilica in preparation for the Feast day of Our Lady of Consolation on May 25. This year one of the priest Friars will preach the Novena each evening May 16-24 at 7:30 pm. This is a great time to take advantage of the nine days of prayer and spiritual reflection being offered. Throughout the Novena people will be given the opportunity to present written prayer requests and have them placed before the statue of Our Lady of Consolation for one year.

The Bishop encourages all parishes, schools and organizations in the diocese to organize as great a participation as possible by the clergy, religious and laity of the diocese for the Mass on May 25.

For more information, contact the Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation at 419-396-7107.
