CATHOLIC DIOCESE OF TOLEDO TO DEDICATE NEW OUTREACH CENTER
February 7, 2007 – Toledo, Ohio - The Dedication and Blessing for the Padua Center, 1416 Nebraska Ave., Toledo, will be held on Thursday, February 8 at noon.
Toledo Mayor Carty Finkbeiner will address the gathering and the Very Reverend Michael Billian, Episcopal Vicar, will preside at the Blessing. During the ceremony five business partners and twenty-three donors and volunteers will be recognized. As part of the program various rooms will be blessed and some of the rooms of the Center will be named according to the Nguzo Saba (Seven Principles) of Kwanzaa.
Sponsored by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Toledo, Ohio, The Padua Center continues the presence of the Catholic Church in the area of the former St. Anthony and St. Stanislaus parishes.
The Diocese of Toledo, established April 15, 1910 encompasses 8222 square miles in a mixture of urban and rural areas that spans 19 counties across Northwest Ohio, serving 306,532 Catholics.
