HOLIDAY SHOPPING CAN PROVIDE SCHOLARSHIPS FOR DIOCESAN CATHOLIC SCHOOLS
November 8, 2006 – Toledo, OH – Holiday shoppers out on the busiest weekend of the season can help provide students with scholarships to attend Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Toledo by participating in the Barnes & Noble Bookfairs in Toledo and Mansfield. The Bookfairs will be held at the 4940 Monroe St. Toledo, OH, and 832 N. Lexington-Springmill Mansfield, OH Barnes & Noble stores on Saturday, November 25th and Sunday November 26th during store hours. Hosted by Catholic Schools of the Diocese of Toledo, the Bookfairs support a tuition assistance endowment that provides scholarships for students in grades K-12 who wish to attend one of the 77 elementary, 10 diocesan and parish or 4 private high schools of the Diocese of Toledo. Shoppers may present a voucher at the register and up to 25% of their total sales, before tax, will go towards the endowment and help another student receive a Catholic education.
Catholic schools will provide entertainment throughout the weekend with storytelling, and musical groups. Schools may also provide booklists for those who wish to donate a book to a school library. Shoppers can also use gift cards purchased though the Scrips program at the event.
Vouchers are available at Catholic schools’ office and online at www.toledodiocese.org. For more information on the Bookfairs, please contact Karen Szymanski at 419-244-6711 x215.
