TOLEDO AREA RELIGIOUS COMMUNITIES COME TOGETHER FOR INTERFAITH PRAYER SERVICE FOR PEACE AND JUSTICE

August 3, 2006 – Toledo, OH – The Diocese of Toledo will host an interfaith prayer service for peace and justice at Christ the King Church at 4100 Harvest Lane, on Monday, August 7 at 7:30 p.m. Members of the Christian, Jewish, Muslim and Hindu communities will come together for prayer and reflection for the current conflicts in the Middle East and violence throughout the world.

Attending the service will be Bishop Leonard P. Blair, Rabbi Barry Leff of Congregation B’nai Israel, Cantor Jen Roher, of Temple Shomer Emunim, Imam Farooq Aboelzahab, of the Greater Toledo Islamic Center, Reverend Rae Lynn Schleif, the United Methodist District Superintendent for the Maumee Watershed District, and Ravi Joshi, Member of the Hindu Temple of Toledo.
