July 24, 2006 – Toledo, OH - In recognition of outstanding achievements in diocesan communications by the Catholic Communication Campaign, an office of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), the Diocese of Toledo received two Proclaim Awards for diocesan marketing campaigns at the Catholic Media Convocation held in Nashville, Tennessee, May 24-26.

For 25 years, the Catholic Communication Campaign has recognized the work of diocesan communicators in the areas of broadcast, print, video and Internet with the Proclaim Awards.
In the category of Other Print (brochures, posters, etc.) the Diocese of Toledo won a Proclaim Award for its Central City Ministry of Toledo Marketing campaign. The diocese also won a Proclaim Award in the category of Multimedia Campaigns for its Catholic Schools A+ Campaign, which included print, radio, direct mail and billboard marketing. Jeff Zawodny of CDM Communications in Toledo designed both campaigns.
Earlier this year, the Advertising Club of Toledo recognized excellence in marketing and advertising at their annual Addy® Awards. In the category of Mixed Media Campaigns-Consumer, Local, the diocesan Annual Catholic Appeal marketing campaign entitled “Make A Faith Connection” designed by CDM Communications received a Gold Addy® Award. A brochure for Our Lady, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Cathedral designed by the Ulrich Pinciotti Design Group won a Silver Addy® Award, and a newspaper ad design for the diocesan Catholic Schools A+ Campaign by CDM Communications received an Honorable Mention Award.
According to Sally Oberski, Director of Communications for the diocese, “It is an honor to receive this recognition for our marketing materials. They help us spread the word of the hard work of our diocesan ministries and offices.”
The Diocese of Toledo, established April 15, 1910 encompasses 8222 square miles in a mixture of urban and rural areas that spans 19 counties across Northwest Ohio, serving 309,828 Catholics. The diocese includes Allen, Crawford, Defiance, Erie, Fulton, Hancock, Henry, Huron, Lucas, Ottawa, Paulding, Putnam, Richland, Sandusky, Seneca, Van Wert, Williams, Wood and Wyandot counties. ### |
