DIOCESE OF TOLEDO ANNOUNCES PERSONNEL APPOINTMENTS

April 18, 2006 – Toledo, Ohio - The Most Reverend Leonard Paul Blair, Bishop of the Diocese of Toledo announces the following personnel appointment in the diocese effective immediately:

· Reverend Chistopher G. Bazar, Associate Pastor, Christ the King Parish, Toledo has been appointed as Chaplain for Catholic Scouting in the Diocese of Toledo.

· Deacon Jose Romo, Saints Peter and Paul Parish, Toledo is granted Senior Status upon his request to retire from an assignment in ministry.

Effective July 1, 2006:

· Reverend David J. Beck has been appointed to the office of Associate Pastor of Saint Clement Parish in Toledo. Father Beck is currently Associate Pastor at Saint Michael the Archangel Parish in Findlay

· Reverend Michael G. Dandurand has been appointed Pastor of Saint Thomas More University Parish in Bowling Green. Father Dandurand is currently Associate Pastor at Saint Joseph parish in Maumee

· Reverend Thomas J. Gorman has been appointed as Chaplain and instructor at Central Catholic High School in Lima, along with responsibilities as Parish Chaplain at Saint Mary Parish, Bluffton.  Father Gorman is currently the Pastor at Saint John the Evangelist Parish in Delphos.

· Reverend Mark J. Herzog has been appointed as Pastor of Saint Ignatius Parish in Oregon. He is currently Pastor of Sacred Heart Parish in Fremont.

· Very Reverend John C. Missler, VF, has been appointed Pastor of Immaculate Conception Parish in Port Clinton. He is currently the Pastor of Holy Angels Parish in Sandusky.

· Reverend William Pifher has been appointed as Pastor of Sacred Heart Parish in Fremont. Father Pifher is currently the Associate Pastor of Saint Wendelin Parish in Fostoria.


The Diocese of Toledo, established April 15, 1910 encompasses 8222 square miles in a mixture of urban and rural areas that spans 19 counties across Northwest Ohio, serving 306,000 Catholics. The diocese includes Allen, Crawford, Defiance, Erie, Fulton, Hancock, Henry, Huron, Lucas, Ottawa, Paulding, Putnam, Richland, Sandusky, Seneca, Van Wert, Williams, Wood and Wyandot counties.
